The Reading Room is available for hire
The Reading Room is a beautiful Grade 2 listed building that makes an excellent venue ideal for post-christening celebrations, small weddings and wakes. It is also available for general hire, business events, children’s and family parties.
The Reading Room is in the middle of the picturesque village of Chalfont St. Giles, across the road from the church, opposite the village chemist.
There is a kitchen available with a four burner electric hob and double oven, two microwaves and two warming drawers. Use of the hob/ovens is available for an additional £5 flat fee. The kitchen also has basic/limited catering items (plates, glasses, mugs, utensils) but no serving bowls or sharp knives. Two Kettles are provided.

The Reading Room has a capacity of 80 for standing and 40 for seated. There are toilet facilities, and a garden. (While the Reading Room is accessible for the disabled, the toilet facilities are not.) Click here for a floor plan of the Reading Room.
There is a permanent audio/video installation with an overhead video projector and audio amplification system with the capacity to play CDs, DVDs and as an extra bonus, VHS tapes. It also has VGA and stereo mini-jack connections for your own laptop (PC or Mac) to permit presentations. This is available for an extra charge of £5 flat fee.

Alcohol Policy
Events at which alcohol is sold (or included in ticket price) must have a liquor licence, available from Chiltern District Council by application at least 6 weeks before the event. The booking secretary will need to have a copy of the licence.
There is also a refundable deposit of £150 if alcohol is going to be consumed on the premises.
