Charities We Support

From our financial giving this year:

The Fawsett Trust

An ancient parish charity for the relief of parishioners in challenged circumstancesthis support has been funded principally through the kind generosity of members of the communitythe Village Show and the Church. Further occasional and significant support has been given by our local Parish Council, Community Board and others. The Trust has some investments and associated income, which are held to try to ensure the continuation of this work.

This relief has been given by the issue of vouchers which our village shops kindly accept in exchange for goods, being reimbursed later..

Transform Trade

A charity set up to support farmers and businesses in the developing world and to promote their produce for sale here in the UK. Find the latest newsletter, and a price list.
Thanks to the strong dedication of Margaret Dykes for championing this wonderful program. Margaret tirelessly provides a monthly Fairtrade table of goodies in church, allowing us to easily support the program too.

Street Kids Direct

Founded in 2001, Street Kids Direct (SKD) works in partnership with local projects in Guatemala and Honduras that help children either living on the streets or at high-risk of living on the streets. The charity´s groundbreaking mentoring programme helps to prevent more children from taking to the streets, increasing their resilience and keeping them in school and in activities rather than on the streets. SKD guarantees that 100% of money donated to the charity goes directly to the projects that they support, ensuring your donation makes the greatest difference possible!

Other Charities

In addition, the church actively supports several other charities at certain times of the year. Charities such as:

The Chiltern Food Bank
The All Together Community
Age UK Gerrards Cross
Arocha UK
Mission to Seafarers

Christian Aid
The Children's Society

Our highly successful Lent Lunches (Pop Up Soup Café) raise money during Lent to support both the Reading Room and other local charities.
